Youth Leadership Institute programs

Lead for Diversity, Manytown, Awareness to Action, Youth and Community Summits and Campus Leaders – conducted by the American Conference on DiversitySM are helping high school and college student leaders understand how stereotypes, bigotry and bias impact negatively on their schools and provide them with tools to develop their own student-led Action Plans. Programs can be designed to focus on a specific area of concern that a school wishes to address; all participants come away with enhanced leadership skills in conflict resolution, coalition building, group facilitation and diversity management. Students return to their schools with the ability to shape a community based on inclusion, respect and understanding - a community that can serve as a model to the larger communities from which the students come. Manytown programs are funded by the Comcast Foundation.

Corporate Support Helps Improve our Quality of Life

“Comcast is pleased to support Lead for Diversity. This program appeals to us because it encourages diversity with a special focus on youth leadership – two areas of special interest to us at Comcast. We are impressed by the way in which students from different communities who participated in the program return in subsequent years in new and growing capacities, eventually broadening the reach of the program and creating a ripple effect of positive change throughout New Jersey.”

Youth Leadership in New Jersey Schools

“Each year, our students return to us following the programs as wonderful ambassadors to our school and our community. And each time I go to the session – and I go to every session – it’s the same thing. “Mrs. Stenreich, this is the best thing I’ve ever done in my life!’ I look forward to our continued, creative working relationship with your organization. Our school district’s wholehearted support of the American Conference on Diversity’s programs speaks volumes for the worth and knowledge gained by our students. The students are able to share not only with their peers but with staff and administration as well”
